Are our Food Prices Rising?

  WALT: Conduct a statistical investigation.

To be successful I will:
  • Collect data from 3 supermarkets - Pak 'n' Save, Countdown & New World.
  • Choose 30 items to buy and record their prices in a google sheet.
  • Sort my grocery items into different food types.
  • Compare the % of shopping spent on the different food types.
  • Summarise our findings.

Our Findings:
We found out that Pak 'n' Save was definitely the cheapest place to shop.  However, we also found that
Pak'n' Save had the most expensive prices for fruit and vegetables.  That was quite interesting.
We found that we spent the most on dairy products with our average percentage of our shopping spent on it to be about 27-30% of our total shopping budget.  The most expensive item on our grocery list was steak which averaged between $10 - $13.

Here is the data we collected of the food types and their total percentage price.

The Loaves

THE LOAVES

A couple weeks ago for Literacy we have been learning about metaphors. A metaphor compares two different things.
We are learning about this language feature to help us become better writers.

In this poem, the author uses the language feature of metaphors to compare bread to clouds, and the sky to an oven.

I found it easy to locate all of the metaphors and the nouns.

I found it hard to find the adjectives and the verbs because it is an area that I need to work more on.

I really enjoyed designing and colouring in my border.

Next time I need to locate more language features and try to use them in my writing.

I found it hard to to find all of my intelligent adjective amd adverds.

I really enjoyed writing it and getting to think about some juicy word and all of that .

Next time I just need to think more about making it make sense.

WALT: write a narrative using adjectives.

The Characters: Mother horse,The ponies and the big tiger.

One nice perfect day, Beautiful mother horse took her wonderful ponies to the deep dark forest to look for juicy delicious berries.

Mother horse saw a big furious tiger and she ran quickly away from her ponies.

Mother horse started limping badly, her leg looked very sore.

The vicious tiger saw the horse but did not see the ponies.

The tiger ran after the fantastic mother horse.

Mother horse´s pretty leg was not sore so she aggressively kicked the tiger and galloped quickly away.

My storyboard

We were learning to write a narritive and then do a storyboard on what we just wrote about.
I found it easy to get the image created on my storyboard.
I found it hard to think about what the characters were thinking about.
I really enjoyed that you can insert any photo/image to it and that you can choose your own scene.
Next time I need to make another one but make it more for my intelligent.
