Recount Writting - Cross Country.

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for Recount Writing.
17/08/17
                    Cross Country.
“Ready set go,” shouted Whaea Rosina.
I took off like a race car.  My heart was pumping  super fast like it never pumped before. It was Wednesday morning and I was racing with the 5 and 6 year old’s.
We ran around the tree and up the hill. The hardest thing was going up the hill 1 time on Mrs Paraha’s farm.
I was so tired when I was running up the hill 1 time.

It was so hot when I was running. I felt like I was going to explode while I was running. My side felt like I got stabbed with a knife. It was very painful. I was told that it is called a stitch from running super fast. In the race I came first. My mum and my dad were really surprised and really happy.  I was excited because I knew I was going to have Mcdonald's for my dinner because I came first in cross country. I can’t wait to race in Ohaeawai.  I wonder if I could come first there too?

Recount Writing-At Te Aho's House

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for recount writing.
25/07/17
At Te Aho’s house.

On Saturday morning my family and I went to Te Aho's house in Okaihau for the holidays. When we got there I saw a lot of people there. I felt happy and keen. First my brother and I asked Te Aho and Komene if they could catch the horse for us to ride. He said, “Yes I will go and catch the horse for you.” Next they caught the horse for my brother and I.  Then we rode the horse. It was so fun riding the horse. Then Pimero came outside to hop  on the horse for a ride. She said, “It is so fun.” Finally we all went inside for a drink because we were thirsty.

Recount writing-At the Park

WALT add details to help our readers understand our story.

You can also add interesting words, talking, similes, feelings and thoughts.

I went to the park.
On Saturday morning  my  family and I  went to the park in Kaikohe to have fun.
I felt pumped and keen.
When we got to the park we saw heaps of stuff.
I said, “Hmmm  what should play on first?”
The first thing I did at the park was play on the slide first.
I felt happy.
The next thing I played on was the swing and I went high and high.
I said, “I’m flying high like a plane.”
I felt so much happiness.
After that we went to the fish and chip shop. We bought fish and chips for lunch. It was yummy and after that we went home.
I felt like it was the best day ever.
